Einige hatten es schon gemutmaßt: Das Review-Embargo, dass über “Venom” verhängt wurde, sollte nichts gutes verheißen. Offizielle Kritiken dürfen, auch in den USA, erst morgen kurz vor dem ersten öffentlichen Screening veröffentlicht werden. (Bei uns gibt es morgen erste Previews im Kino, der offizielle Kinostart ist am Freitag.)
Nach ersten Pressescreenings am 1.10. in den USA wurden den Kritikern nun erlaubt, ihre Meinung zum Film auf Twitter zu veröffentlichen – und die ersten Reaktionen sind verheerend bis durchwachsen:
“Sorry to say that #Venom is pretty much a complete failure – a tonal mess that feels 15 years old, ignoring the storytelling strides that the superhero genre has made in recent years. A few fun Venom-centric moments aside, it has nearly nothing to offer. Don’t get your hopes up.” Tom Horrorgensen
